Usage of Artificial Tears

Ophthalmic lubricant; for relief of dry eyes and eye irritation

Usual Dosage

Ophthalmic: Use as needed to relieve symptoms, 1-2 drops into eye(s) 3-4 times/day

Side effects of Artificial Tears

Stop using ocular lubricant and call your doctor if you have a serious side effect such as:
  • severe burning, stinging, or eye irritation after using the medication;
  • eye pain; or
  • vision changes.
Less serious side effects of ocular lubricant ophthalmic may include:
  • mild eye burning or irritation;
  • itching or redness of your eyes;
  • watery eyes;
  • blurred vision; or
  • unpleasant taste in your mouth.
